So I went to vote this morning and on the ballot we have a chance to vote on whether we want alcohol sales by the drink on Sunday or not (it is currently illegal). I had to stare at this for a second when I read it cause I saw how it could be confusing. This is how it read almost verbatim: "Should the state of Georgia be authorized to permit and regulate Sunday alcohol sales by the drink?" If we vote yes and authorize them to permit and regulate this, does that mean they have to? Not that it matters because it won't pass anyway around these parts of our troubled nation.
Sure has been a hot-topic for the papers, though....
Yes and I dread having to continue reading about it in the coming weeks.
When you get fed up with the VDT, pick up the 'ole Lanier County News. That'll make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside!
Insane, were you surprised at the results?
Happily suprised. I hope all the churches that posted "Vote No on Sunday Alcohol Sales" on their signs start to realize that others enjoying alcohol on Sunday affects no differently than when others enjoy alcohol on any other day of the week. It was a stupid law. The fact that we still can't go to a convenience store and buy alcohol on Sunday is still depressing (from a citizen's point of veiw, not an alcoholic's). Maybe one day...
I was surprised too.....
